The times, the direction of the qibla and the date are computed on your device. You can change the city, the method, the date and the time of Asr. For religious practice, compare the result with the view of the marja you follow.

Siraj computes the lunar date. It may differ by a day or two from the calendar announced after the moon is sighted.

Direction of the qibla

Qibla

Shortest way

Distance to the Kaaba:

It turns on only when you press it. The phone’s heading does not leave your device.

How accurate is it?
  • The angle is computed from true north and shows the shortest way over the Earth to the Kaaba. It is a calculation, not a religious ruling.
  • A phone’s compass shows magnetic north, which differs from true north by a few degrees. Siraj does not correct this difference.
  • Before using it, move the phone a few times in a figure 8 in the air so that its compass calibrates. Keep away from metal objects, magnets and magnetic cases.
  • To be sure, compare the direction with landmarks of the place (such as the mihrab of a mosque) or with the view of the marja you follow.

A calculation, not a ruling
These times and the direction of the qibla come from astronomical and geometric calculation. For religious practice, compare them with the view of the marja you follow.
Places near the poles
If one of these times does not occur on a day (for example, the sun does not set), a “—” appears in its place. Siraj does not guess another religious time.
Calendar
The Gregorian date is computed exactly. The lunar date is computed from a fixed table, not from the sighting of the moon. For the beginning of a month and for occasions, see the announcement of the marja you follow.
