وَمَتَى كُنْتُمْ يَا مُعَاوِيَةُ سَاسَةَ الرَّعِيَّةِ، وَوُلَاةَ أَمْرِ الْأُمَّةِ؟ بِغَيْرِ قَدَم سَابِق، وَلَا شَرَفٍ بَاسِق، وَنَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ لُزومِ سَوَابِقِ الشَّقَاءِ، وَأُحَذِّرُكَ أَنْ تَكُونَ مُتَمادِياً فِي غِرَّةِ الْأُمْنِيِّةِ، مُخْتَلِفَ الْعَلاَنِيَةِ والسَّرِيرَةِ.The text, as its source published it
