Surah 82 الإنفطار
19 Verses
Meccan
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنفَطَرَتْ Verse 1
When the heaven is cleft asunder,
Verse 1, Where in the source
وَإِذَا ٱلْكَوَاكِبُ ٱنتَثَرَتْ Verse 2
When the planets are dispersed,
Verse 2, Where in the source
وَإِذَا ٱلْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ Verse 3
When the seas are poured forth,
Verse 3, Where in the source
وَإِذَا ٱلْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ Verse 4
And the sepulchres are overturned,

عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ Verse 5
A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind.
Verse 5, Where in the source
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ ٱلْكَرِيمِ Verse 6
O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful,
Verse 6, Where in the source
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ Verse 7
Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee?
Verse 7, Where in the source
فِىٓ أَىِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَآءَ رَكَّبَكَ Verse 8
Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee.
Verse 8, Where in the source
كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِٱلدِّينِ Verse 9
Nay, but ye deny the Judgment.
Verse 9, Where in the source
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَـٰفِظِينَ Verse 10
Lo! there are above you guardians,
Verse 10, Where in the source
كِرَامًا كَـٰتِبِينَ Verse 11
Generous and recording,
Verse 11, Where in the source
يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ Verse 12
Who know (all) that ye do.
Verse 12, Where in the source
إِنَّ ٱلْأَبْرَارَ لَفِى نَعِيمٍ Verse 13
Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight.
Verse 13, Where in the source
وَإِنَّ ٱلْفُجَّارَ لَفِى جَحِيمٍ Verse 14
And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell;
Verse 14, Where in the source
يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ Verse 15
They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment,
Verse 15, Where in the source
وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَآئِبِينَ Verse 16
And will not be absent thence.
Verse 16, Where in the source
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ Verse 17
Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is!
Verse 17, Where in the source
ثُمَّ مَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ Verse 18
Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is!
Verse 18, Where in the source
يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْـًٔا ۖ وَٱلْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ Verse 19
A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's.
