Surah 84 الإنشقاق
25 Verses
Meccan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انشَقَّتْ Verse 1
When the heaven is split asunder
Verse 1, Where in the source
وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ Verse 2
And attentive to her Lord in fear,
Verse 2, Where in the source
وَإِذَا الْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ Verse 3
And when the earth is spread out
Verse 3, Where in the source
وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ Verse 4
And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty

وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ Verse 5
And attentive to her Lord in fear!

يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَاقِيهِ Verse 6
Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence).

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ Verse 7
Then whoso is given his account in his right hand
Verse 7, Where in the source
فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا Verse 8
He truly will receive an easy reckoning

وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا Verse 9
And will return unto his folk in joy.

وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ وَرَاءَ ظَهْرِهِ Verse 10
But whoso is given his account behind his back,
Verse 10, Where in the source
فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُو ثُبُورًا Verse 11
He surely will invoke destruction
Verse 11, Where in the source
وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا Verse 12
And be thrown to scorching fire.

إِنَّهُ كَانَ فِي أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا Verse 13
He verily lived joyous with his folk,
Verse 13, Where in the source
إِنَّهُ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ Verse 14
He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah).

بَلَىٰ إِنَّ رَبَّهُ كَانَ بِهِ بَصِيرًا Verse 15
Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him!
Verse 15, Where in the source
فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ Verse 16
Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset,

وَاللَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ Verse 17
And by the night and all that it enshroudeth,

وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا اتَّسَقَ Verse 18
And by the moon when she is at the full,

لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ Verse 19
That ye shall journey on from plane to plane.
Verse 19, Where in the source
فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ Verse 20
What aileth them, then, that they believe not
Verse 20, Where in the source
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقُرْآنُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ ۩ Verse 21
And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)?
Verse 21, Where in the source
بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُكَذِّبُونَ Verse 22
Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny;
Verse 22, Where in the source
وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ Verse 23
And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding.
Verse 23, Where in the source
فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ Verse 24
So give them tidings of a painful doom,
Verse 24, Where in the source
إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ Verse 25
Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing.
