Surah 92 الليل
21 Verses
Meccan
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ Verse 1
By the night enshrouding
Verse 1, Where in the source
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ Verse 2
And the day resplendent
Verse 2, Where in the source
وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ Verse 3
And Him Who hath created male and female,
Verse 3, Where in the source
إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ Verse 4
Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends).
Verse 4, Where in the source
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ Verse 5
As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah)
Verse 5, Where in the source
وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ Verse 6
And believeth in goodness;
Verse 6, Where in the source
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ Verse 7
Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease.
Verse 7, Where in the source
وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ Verse 8
But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent,
Verse 8, Where in the source
وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ Verse 9
And disbelieveth in goodness;
Verse 9, Where in the source
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ Verse 10
Surely We will ease his way unto adversity.
Verse 10, Where in the source
وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ Verse 11
His riches will not save him when he perisheth.
Verse 11, Where in the source
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ Verse 12
Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance
Verse 12, Where in the source
وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْـَٔاخِرَةَ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ Verse 13
And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former.
Verse 13, Where in the source
فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ Verse 14
Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire
Verse 14, Where in the source
لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى Verse 15
Which only the most wretched must endure,
Verse 15, Where in the source
ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ Verse 16
He who denieth and turneth away.
Verse 16, Where in the source
وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَتْقَى Verse 17
Far removed from it will be the righteous
Verse 17, Where in the source
ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ Verse 18
Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness).
Verse 18, Where in the source
وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰٓ Verse 19
And none hath with him any favour for reward,
Verse 19, Where in the source
إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ Verse 20
Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High.
Verse 20, Where in the source
وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ Verse 21
He verily will be content.
