Religious knowledge, with sources

Whatever you read, see its source too.

At Siraj every claim has its own source. We do not hide disagreements. And nothing sensitive is published without a person approving it.

Back to todayPrayer times and the qibla are for today only

Siraj computes the lunar date. It may differ by a day or two from the calendar announced after the moon is sighted.

Verse of that day

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ

Every soul will taste of death. Then unto Us ye will be returned.

Surah العنكبوت, verse 57

The verse of each day is chosen by the date alone. The text comes, unchanged, from Tanzil Project. The translation is the work of Marmaduke Pickthall and comes, unchanged, from Alfred A. Knopf, New York, 1930 (first edition).

That day’s pick

How Siraj decides

From draft to publication, every step is recorded.

No text goes straight from a writer or from AI to the site. Every important change is recorded: who, when, what changed, why, and who approved it.

DraftThe writer writes a fixed version. Each claim is recorded on its own. A person
AI proposalAI separates the claims and looks at the sources and contradictions. The result is only a proposal for that version. The model and its cost are recorded too. May not publish
Source checkA person compares each source with its copy and sees where in the source the text appears. A person
Expert opinionHadith, fatwas, disputed history and sensitive topics do not move on without an expert’s approval. A person
Language editingTranslation and tone are checked. Machine translation is clearly marked. A person
Published by a personSomeone with permission publishes that same version and writes down why. A person, with permission

A fixed rule: AI never publishes. It does not change the site’s text without notice, and it does not have the last word. It only makes a proposal for one specific version. A person accepts or rejects it.
