Surah 111 المسد

Meccan
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
تَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي لَهَبٍ وَتَبَّ Verse 1
The power of Abu Lahab will perish, and he will perish.

مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُ مَالُهُ وَمَا كَسَبَ Verse 2
His wealth and gains will not exempt him.

سَيَصْلَىٰ نَارًا ذَاتَ لَهَبٍ Verse 3
He will be plunged in flaming Fire,

وَامْرَأَتُهُ حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِ Verse 4
And his wife, the wood-carrier,

فِي جِيدِهَا حَبْلٌ مِّن مَّسَدٍ Verse 5
Will have upon her neck a halter of palm-fibre.
