Surah 69 الحاقة

وَجَآءَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَن قَبْلَهُۥ وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَـٰتُ بِٱلْخَاطِئَةِ Verse 9

And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error,

فَعَصَوْا۟ رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَةً رَّابِيَةً Verse 10

And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip.

إِنَّا لَمَّا طَغَا ٱلْمَآءُ حَمَلْنَـٰكُمْ فِى ٱلْجَارِيَةِ Verse 11

Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship

لِنَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ تَذْكِرَةً وَتَعِيَهَآ أُذُنٌ وَٰعِيَةٌ Verse 12

That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember.

فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ نَفْخَةٌ وَٰحِدَةٌ Verse 13

And when the trumpet shall sound one blast

وَحُمِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَٱلْجِبَالُ فَدُكَّتَا دَكَّةً وَٰحِدَةً Verse 14

And the earth with the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with one crash,

فَيَوْمَئِذٍ وَقَعَتِ ٱلْوَاقِعَةُ Verse 15

Then, on that day will the Event befall.

وَٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَهِىَ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاهِيَةٌ Verse 16

And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail.

وَٱلْمَلَكُ عَلَىٰٓ أَرْجَآئِهَا ۚ وَيَحْمِلُ عَرْشَ رَبِّكَ فَوْقَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ ثَمَـٰنِيَةٌ Verse 17

And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them.

يَوْمَئِذٍ تُعْرَضُونَ لَا تَخْفَىٰ مِنكُمْ خَافِيَةٌ Verse 18

On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden.

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ هَآؤُمُ ٱقْرَءُوا۟ كِتَـٰبِيَهْ Verse 19

Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book!

إِنِّى ظَنَنتُ أَنِّى مُلَـٰقٍ حِسَابِيَهْ Verse 20

Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning.

فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ Verse 21

Then he will be in blissful state

فِى جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ Verse 22

In a high garden

قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٌ Verse 23

Whereof the clusters are in easy reach.

كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَآ أَسْلَفْتُمْ فِى ٱلْأَيَّامِ ٱلْخَالِيَةِ Verse 24

(And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days.

وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِشِمَالِهِۦ فَيَقُولُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَـٰبِيَهْ Verse 25

But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book

وَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهْ Verse 26

And knew not what my reckoning!

يَـٰلَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ ٱلْقَاضِيَةَ Verse 27

Oh, would that it had been death!

مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنِّى مَالِيَهْ ۜ Verse 28

My wealth hath not availed me,

هَلَكَ عَنِّى سُلْطَـٰنِيَهْ Verse 29

My power hath gone from me.

خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ Verse 30

(It will be said): Take him and fetter him

ثُمَّ ٱلْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ Verse 31

And then expose him to hell-fire

ثُمَّ فِى سِلْسِلَةٍ ذَرْعُهَا سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعًا فَٱسْلُكُوهُ Verse 32

And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits.

إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ Verse 33

Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous,

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ Verse 34

And urged not on the feeding of the wretched.

فَلَيْسَ لَهُ ٱلْيَوْمَ هَـٰهُنَا حَمِيمٌ Verse 35

Therefor hath he no lover here this day,

وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ غِسْلِينٍ Verse 36

Nor any food save filth

لَّا يَأْكُلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلْخَـٰطِـُٔونَ Verse 37

Which none but sinners eat.

فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ Verse 38

But nay! I swear by all that ye see

وَمَا لَا تُبْصِرُونَ Verse 39

And all that ye see not

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ Verse 40

That it is indeed the speech of an illustrious messenger.

وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِرٍ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تُؤْمِنُونَ Verse 41

It is not poet's speech - little is it that ye believe!

وَلَا بِقَوْلِ كَاهِنٍ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ Verse 42

Nor diviner's speech - little is it that ye remember!

تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ Verse 43

It is a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.

وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ ٱلْأَقَاوِيلِ Verse 44

And if he had invented false sayings concerning Us,

لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِٱلْيَمِينِ Verse 45

We assuredly had taken him by the right hand

ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ ٱلْوَتِينَ Verse 46

And then severed his life-artery,

فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَـٰجِزِينَ Verse 47

And not one of you could have held Us off from him.

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذْكِرَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ Verse 48

And lo! it is a warrant unto those who ward off (evil).

وَإِنَّا لَنَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ Verse 49

And lo! We know that some among you will deny (it).

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسْرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ Verse 50

And lo! it is indeed an anguish for the disbelievers.

وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلْيَقِينِ Verse 51

And lo! it is absolute truth.

فَسَبِّحْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ Verse 52

So glorify the name of thy Tremendous Lord.
