Surah 87 الأعلى
19 Verses
Meccan
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
سَبِّحِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ ٱلْأَعْلَى Verse 1
Praise the name of thy Lord the Most High,
Verse 1, Where in the source
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ Verse 2
Who createth, then disposeth;
Verse 2, Where in the source
وَٱلَّذِى قَدَّرَ فَهَدَىٰ Verse 3
Who measureth, then guideth;
Verse 3, Where in the source
وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَخْرَجَ ٱلْمَرْعَىٰ Verse 4
Who bringeth forth the pasturage,
Verse 4, Where in the source
فَجَعَلَهُۥ غُثَآءً أَحْوَىٰ Verse 5
Then turneth it to russet stubble.
Verse 5, Where in the source
سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنسَىٰٓ Verse 6
We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget
Verse 6, Where in the source
إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ يَعْلَمُ ٱلْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَىٰ Verse 7
Save that which Allah willeth. Lo! He knoweth the disclosed and that which still is hidden;
Verse 7, Where in the source
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ Verse 8
And We shall ease thy way unto the state of ease.
Verse 8, Where in the source
فَذَكِّرْ إِن نَّفَعَتِ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ Verse 9
Therefor remind (men), for of use is the reminder.
Verse 9, Where in the source
سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَن يَخْشَىٰ Verse 10
He will heed who feareth,
Verse 10, Where in the source
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَشْقَى Verse 11
But the most hapless will flout it,
Verse 11, Where in the source
ٱلَّذِى يَصْلَى ٱلنَّارَ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ Verse 12
He who will be flung to the great Fire
Verse 12, Where in the source
ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ Verse 13
Wherein he will neither die nor live.
Verse 13, Where in the source
قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ Verse 14
He is successful who groweth,
Verse 14, Where in the source
وَذَكَرَ ٱسْمَ رَبِّهِۦ فَصَلَّىٰ Verse 15
And remembereth the name of his Lord, so prayeth,
Verse 15, Where in the source
بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا Verse 16
But ye prefer the life of the world
Verse 16, Where in the source
وَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰٓ Verse 17
Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting.
Verse 17, Where in the source
إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَفِى ٱلصُّحُفِ ٱلْأُولَىٰ Verse 18
Lo! This is in the former scrolls.
Verse 18, Where in the source
صُحُفِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ Verse 19
The Books of Abraham and Moses.
