Surah 101 القارعة
11 Verses
Meccan
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
ٱلْقَارِعَةُ Verse 1
The Calamity!
Verse 1, Where in the source
مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ Verse 2
What is the Calamity?
Verse 2, Where in the source
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ Verse 3
Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Calamity is!
Verse 3, Where in the source
يَوْمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلْفَرَاشِ ٱلْمَبْثُوثِ Verse 4
A day wherein mankind will be as thickly-scattered moths
Verse 4, Where in the source
وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٱلْمَنفُوشِ Verse 5
And the mountains will become as carded wool.
Verse 5, Where in the source
فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ Verse 6
Then, as for him whose scales are heavy (with good works),
Verse 6, Where in the source
فَهُوَ فِى عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ Verse 7
He will live a pleasant life.

وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ Verse 8
But as for him whose scales are light,
Verse 8, Where in the source
فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٌ Verse 9
A bereft and Hungry One will be his mother,
Verse 9, Where in the source
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهْ Verse 10
Ah, what will convey unto thee what she is! -

نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌۢ Verse 11
Raging Fire.
